About
Zol's Game World Built to be here for decades.
Plenty of small game sites appear, run for a while, and quietly disappear — taking accounts, scores and streaks with them. It's our goal to be the opposite of that. A lot of the work here has nothing to do with games at all: it's the unglamorous groundwork that gives a site a chance of still standing years from now.
We work with lawyers
To be clear about what that means: an attorney reviews our legal documents — the terms you agree to, how we describe what you're buying, what we say about your data and what we do with it. They don't review the games. That part is on us.
The rules that apply here aren't only American ones. Anyone with a browser can reach this site, and privacy law differs considerably depending on where you're sitting. We take advice on that rather than guessing, and we'd rather find out we've got something wrong from counsel than from a regulator.
Those documents are published in the app and readable at any time — not buried at signup and never seen again. They're versioned, too. When something changes, it's a new version with a date on it, and you'll be shown the current one rather than quietly held to something you never read. What you agreed to, and when, is recorded.
Your data
We collect what running the site actually requires, and we say what that is.
Closing your account and deleting your data are two different things, and we'd rather be clear about that than have you assume. If you want your data removed, ask us and we'll do it — your personal information comes off the platform. Some things stay: scores feed leaderboards and averages, so those remain, with nothing linking them back to you.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to them, not to us. We never see or store them.
The boring parts matter
We keep backups, we test that we can recover from them, and we've made it hard to delete anything by accident. When something needs fixing, we can take the site down cleanly and put it back rather than pulling it out from under you mid-game. None of it is visible when it's working, and all of it is why the site is still here.
The goal is a site that lasts for decades, not days.
Why we're telling you
Because you're being asked to make an account, keep a streak going, save your progress here, and potentially pay for our services — and it's fair to want to know that whoever's behind it is taking it seriously.
We can't promise the future. Nobody can. What we can tell you is that this was built to last, and that the choices we make are the ones that keep it that way.
