Two-Player Word Game
Zol's Words Build words, tile by tile, against a friend.
Zol's Words is a two-player word game you play in your browser — a tile-laying duel on a nine-by-nine board where you and a friend take turns building the highest-scoring words you can.
The rules
- You each draw letter tiles from a shared bag onto a private rack — you only ever see your own.
- On your turn, lay tiles in a line to make a word. The first move crosses the centre; after that, every new word has to connect to what's already on the board.
- You score the word you made plus every crossing word it forms, and premium squares multiply letters and words.
- Every word you create — the one you meant and any you form across it — has to be a real one. When the bag runs dry, the higher score wins.
Play at your own pace
Words is correspondence-style: take your turn whenever you like, and your friend takes theirs when they're free — you never have to be online at the same time. The difficulty your challenger picks sets a per-turn timer, from a relaxed ninety seconds down to a brisk thirty. There's also an optional set of "chaos" twists you can agree to before you start — a rack that reshuffles, premium squares that wander, a board that grows words of its own.
The board only shows your own rack. The other half of the game is reading what your friend is sitting on.
